We do everything we can to protect your home. We cover the floors with drop cloths, hang plastic to protect other rooms and sweep or vacuum any other areas that we come in contact with. The work area will be left in an orderly fashion each evening.
We usually start each day between 7:30-8:00AM, depending upon our need to pick up stock on the way in. the day usually ends about 5:00PM. We only work Saturdays when there’s a special need and would seek permission from you first. Some towns do not allow us to work weekends.
We haul away all the trash from the project. If it’s a large project, we may have a dumpster dropped off for the duration of the project.
We have long standing relationships with our subcontractors, averaging from 6-10 years, we totally trust them and have no reservations having them in your home or ours.
We find that in most homes today, both spouses work so they give us a key to let ourselves in. we do not make duplicate keys to hand out.
Generally, we will start the project if the cabinets, lighting fixtures and plumbing fixtures are on site or have been ordered. This saves time and money if there is a delay in shipping or something arrives damaged. If we have to pack up and leave, it may be a while until we get back due to re-scheduling ourselves and the other trades.
We would be glad to provide as many references as you would like. However, we won’t provide them until you’re satisfied with our estimate and your leaning toward hiring us. This protects our clients from getting unnecessary phone calls from those just shopping. I’m sure you understand.
We, as the General Contractor would apply for the building permit, our plumber and electrician would each apply for their own permits.
The cost building permits in each town and are usually based upon a percentage of the total cost for the project. This includes the material and labor. Plumbing and electrical permits are usually based either on total cost or a fixed price per fixture.
We have everyone we need to complete the project, in a timely, efficient and professional manner. We work as a team, I am like the coach, I make sure we’re all on the same page to make the project go as smoothly as possible.
We put a lot of time and effort into figuring your project to be as precise as possible. If something unexpected is found that could not be determined upon the initial walkthrough, such as termite damage, structural problems or asbestos, we would discuss this with you prior to continuing to come to a reasonable solution to the problem. Otherwise, unless you make changes to the layout, material or add additional work, the amount will be the same as quoted.
A typed, detailed estimate is provided for each project and is e-mailed directly to you. If the original estimate fits your budget, and dependent upon the size and scope of the project, we may want to bring a couple of our subcontractors in to view the proposed work. We would type up a contract which would include the payment schedule. The number of payments would depend upon the size and scope of the project.
No matter how well we seal off the work area, some dust is going to get through. We pay an incredible amount of attention to the construction of containment barriers around the work area to avoid dust infiltration to areas that are not directly involved in the project. We do our best, but dust still manages to infiltrate adjacent areas. It is impossible to avoid.
All towns require permits for most types of major remodeling or any type of structural work such as kitchen and bathroom remodeling, porches, decks, additions, roofing and siding. Small projects, repairs and handyman items usually do not need one.

Express and their crew basically remodeled an entire half of our home. Our kitchen was from the fifties and they had to remodel down to the sub-floor. I literally have a kitchen from a design magazine now. Wagner, the owner of the company gave me some great layout ideas and was able to connect me with a design team for the cabinets. I could not be more pleased with the end result. The crew was clean, trust-worthy and went above and beyond to make sure they were done within the time they quoted us. This was HUGE for us, because I have heard many horror stories with contractors. I was nervous about such a large project in one summer but they made the process so easy and now I have beautiful bathrooms and an amazing kitchen to show for it! Absolutely thrilled!
Express and there crew had worked on my house before so when I needed work done at my firm I called them right away. We had some issues getting permits with the city for the work we needed and Wagner (the owner) was able to clear up the issue and move forward with the project. They were also very accommodating dealing with our construction loan and all the paperwork that went along with that. The crew installed laminate flooring, moved walls, doors and installed a kitchenette for my staff. All the work was done in a timely manner with the work-site left spotless everyday. I was thankful the staff was able to work around our schedule and even finish some of the work on the weekends. Very happy with the outcome of the project.
Wagner and his entire team were very professional and dedicated to quality work. Since we’re a small condo association, we had to break out payments in different ways between the units for specific things. Cristina provided clear accounting when we needed it for the job and even the minor change order we had on the job was done efficiently and easily. Any job has stress and mess. Tearing down a front porch and replacing windows obviously created dust and interruption, but the crews did a pretty good job at the end of each day. Even as we had small amounts of rework or “is that in the plan” items throughout the project, Wagner communicated most corrections quickly and others were simply handled the next day. We are very happy with the result and would definitely make Express Remodeling our first call should we have another renovation project to do.
From my first meeting with Wagner to review the project, I felt confident in his ability to complete the job. During the walk through he completely understood what we wanted to do and he had a good understanding of the local building codes and how they may impact our design. We had an estimate within a week as promised and the price was comparable to others we recieved. Additionally, there were no surprises or unexpected additional costs during demo or construction. He carefully thought through and planned out project cost. Communication was great – the office manager Cristina was always very responsive whenever we had questions. The crew showed up bright and early each day and were ready to go. We lived in the house during the project and the crew was always courteous and respectful and did a good job cleaning up at the end of each day. The project timeline went smoothly and as expected due to Wagner’s coordination amongst sub-contractors and scheduling of inspections. We are very happy with the quality of work and improvements made on our house and would defenitely hire Express Remodeling for future projects
Working with Wagner and his team was a wonderful experience. Wagner is extremely communicative (which I have found to be a rare trait with other contractors in this state) and collaborative. He always responded to my calls and emails and his team was very professional and hard working. On our last project, we had a massive roof leak with structural damage. Our insurance company had referred us to another contractor who was unable to do the work properly and gave us a 6 month timeline of completion. I promptly fired that contractor and hired Wagner and his team was able to replace the roof, replace roof joists on the interior, repair and finish all interior work, and rebuild a roof deck in 2 weeks. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I would hire Wagner and his team again in a heartbeat.
